Lent Appeal for Iraqi Christians in Need 

Dear Friends,

Once again we are supporting Iraqi Christians in Need (ICIN) as our Lent appeal. In 2017 we raised roughly £12,500 in private donations – which was a fantastic result. Once again, a generous donor has already offered £6,000 plus gift aid in matched funding. This means that every gift aided £100 we give is worth £250.

ICIN have asked that our contribution this year goes into the relief work in Iraq. Christians are now back in the Nineveh Plain villages, and churches are once again open for worship. However, such is the devastation that $250 million is required for reconstruction. Much has already been done to repair homes and churches. ICIN has committed almost $140,000 for a Youth Social Centre in Teleskuf and has earmarked just over $43,000 to the construction of a bookshop in Qaraqosh for the sale of Christian educational literature and prayer books.

Can we match last year’s wonderful result, to ensure that Christians in Iraq are supported in their lives and faith?
