Health centre and school in The Gambia

Our Lent Appeal this year was an exciting development of a health centre in a village in a rural area of The Gambia. This project is supported entirely by volunteers, and was co-founded by Howard, the IntoWork team leader at the ClementJames Centre. For more information, go to www.bace-home.org, and look out for photos on our website. Envelopes are available in church for those who wish to support the project financially. Please make sure you include your name and address so that BACE can claim Gift Aid on your behalf.

Nearly £9000 has been raised by the parish so far this year.

The clinic will be up and running by October. £200 per month will pay for two nurses, a cleaner, and an administrator. £400 per month will feed 100 children in school every day. £8500 will pay for a borehole to provide water for the clinic and to support the crop programme. Solar panels are needed to provide electricity for the clinic 24/7 and to power the borehole (£7000 still to find.)
