6 June: Craig Brown – Satire in the age of Trump
Craig Brown is Britain’s leading satirist. His frequently hilarious columns appear in Private Eye, The Times, The Telegraph and the Daily Mail. He has pilloried everyone from Jilly Cooper to Donald Trump.
13 June: Michael Cockerell – Reflections on a divided Britain
Britain’s finest political documentary-maker will show clips from his films and talk about his encounters with some of Britain’s most extraordinary and divisive politcal figures from Enoch Powell to Tony Blair, from Barbara Castle to Boris Johnson.
27 June: Alan Johnson – Growing up when Notting Hill was a slum
Alan Johnson, union leader, cabinet minister and would-be Mod rock star was an MP until this election. The former Home Secretary grew up in the Notting Hill area in the 1960s, when it was a place of slum landlords, racial tension and desperate poverty. How much has really changed?
