About Us

St Clement and St James – two churches in an extraordinarily diverse parish.  To the south of the parish is one of the richest parts of the city, while in the north - a few minutes walk away, is one of the poorest places in Britain.

The Vicar is Father Gareth Wardell.  He arrived just before lockdown but notwithstanding this, he led us and held us together through the pandemic.

Our congregation is diverse, being drawn from many backgrounds.  We are an inclusive church and love to welcome everyone regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race, income or nationality.  Do come and visit us and see if you would like to be part of our church family.

We have a long tradition of community action and have a strong relationship with our church school.  Our sister charity, The ClementJames Centre offers a huge range of educational, literacy and support programmes.  Grenfell Tower stands in the parish, and St Clement had an important role in the relief operation following the fire.  It is now part of the continuing effort to bring healing and reconciliation to North Kensington.

At St James, we usually run a Summer Speaker programme and an annual fete.

Our style of worship is one that is reverent and sacramental, but not stuffy!   Our hope and prayer is these services will uplift and strengthen you for the week ahead.

We also have a Facebook Group Page.  If you would like to join in this group please send click on the link and request to join in.

Every blessing.
